What Makes Good Poetry #2
I believe that good poetry consists of good description where the author describes things in the poem so well that the reader can visualize it. A good poem must flow well. This means no choppy sentences and you can go from sentence to sentence with ease. A good poem is when you tell it in the form of a story. What I do not like about poems is rhyming. I am more of a freelance writer who prefers stories to rhymes. I enjoy humour in a poem because humour keeps my interest and I like to laugh. I enjoy a little bit of over exaggeration or hyperbole in a poem. It keeps me interested and wondering what would happen next. If a poem does not have all these things I am not interested.
